FAYETTEVILLE, NC – The Fayetteville State volleyball team will wrap up its home schedule on Monday evening with a 6 p.m. contest at home against the Johnson C. Smith Golden Bulls. It will be Senior Night for the Lady Broncos as they will honor Joi Emanuel, Chaquita Jackson and Ifeyinwa Nwokolo prior to the match.

FSU enters the contest with a 20-5 overall record, 14-0 mark in the conference and are 8-0 in the division. The Golden Bulls currently hold a 4-18 record on the season, and is 3-12 in the league and 1-8 in division play.

The Lady Broncos will look to capture the season sweep of Johnson C. Smith on Monday night. FSU defeated the Golden Bulls 3-0 (25-13, 25-19, 25-9) on Sept. 22 in Charlotte during the JCSU Volleyball Tournament. In the contest Jessica Hardy (So., Fayetteville, NC) led Fayetteville State with nine kills, while Nwokolo (Sr., Greensboro, NC) had eight kills and Emanuel (Sr., Charlotte, NC) added six. Molly Farrington (Jr., Fayetteville, NC) dished out a team-high nine assists, and JaMisha Jordan (Jr., Fayetteville, NC) and Joylene Thompson (Jr., Spanish Town, JA) had nine digs each.

Entering the week, Nwokolo is first in the conference in hitting percentage and sixth nationally, third in kills per set and kills, and fifth in blocks per set. Jordan leads the CIAA in digs, digs per set and aces per set. Emanuel leads the league in blocks per set and is third in hitting percentage.

Fayetteville State will be back in action on Wednesday, Nov. 7 as it travels to face the UNC Pembroke Braves at 6 p.m.

LADY BRONCOS SWEEP GOLDEN BULLS ON FINAL DAY OF JOHNSON C. SMITH INVITATIONAL
CHARLOTTE, NC - The Fayetteville State Lady Bronco volleyball team snapped a two-game losing streak on Sunday afternoon by defeating Johnson C. Smith 3-0 on the final day of the Johnson C. Smith Invitational. The Lady Broncos improve to 8-2 on the season and 6-0 in the CIAA, while the Golden Bulls fall to 1-8 overall and 1-5 in conference play.
