FAYETTEVILLE, NC – The Fayetteville State volleyball team will entertain Livingstone College and Benedict in consecutive home games this week as the Lady Broncos gear up for a weekend tournament at Mount Olive. FSU hosts the Blue Bears in conference play on Monday, Oct. 15 at 6 p.m. and the Tigers on Tuesday, Oct. 16 at 6 p.m.
Monday night will be the second meeting of the season between Fayetteville State and Livingstone, with the Lady Broncos defeating the Blue Bears 3-0 in Salisbury on Sept. 20. This will be the first meeting of the season between FSU and Benedict, and first between the two teams since the 2008 season.
Fayetteville State enters the two-game stretch with a 15-3 overall record, 12-0 league record and 6-0 mark in the CIAA Southern Division. Livingstone is right behind FSU in the division standings with a 4-0 record in the division, and is 16-4 on the season and 7-4 in conference play. The Tigers are currently 11-6 on the season.
Ifeyinwa Nwokolo (Sr., Greensboro, NC) continues to be one of the top offensive players, both in the country and CIAA, as she has tallied 220 kills on the season. Joi Emanuel (Sr., Charlotte, NC), Jessica Hardy (So., Fayetteville, NC) and Joylene Thompson (Jr., Spanish Town, JA) each have recorded over 100 kills for the Lady Broncos. Fayetteville State has combined for 617 assists this season, led by Molly Farrington (Jr., Fayetteville, NC) with 278 and Paige Horne (Jr., Southern Pines, NC) at 235. JaMisha Jordan (Jr., Fayetteville, NC) has added 261 digs, and is one of the top players in the nation and conference with 53 service aces.
FSU will travel to Mount Olive, NC this weekend to participate in the Mount Olive College Classic. The Lady Broncos will face Mount Olive on Friday, Oct. 19 at 6 p.m. before wrapping up play on Saturday, Oct. 20 against Pfeiffer at 9 a.m. and Armstrong Atlantic at 1 p.m.

FSU VOLLEYBALL BLANKS LIVINGSTONE ON THE ROAD 3-0 IN CIAA PLAY
SALISBURY, NC - The Fayetteville State volleyball team's impressive streak of holding opponents scoreless extended to five matches on Thursday evening as it defeated the Livingstone Blue Bears 3-0 (25-12, 26-24, 25-20) in CIAA action at Trent Gym. The Lady Broncos remain unbeaten on the 2012 season as they improve to 7-0 overall and 5-0 in conference play, while the Blue Bears fall to 8-4 on the season and 0-4 in CIAA play. Fayetteville State is now 2-0 this season on the road and 1-0 in conference road games.
