FAYETTEVILLE, NC – After playing its last five games against conference opponents, the Fayetteville State volleyball team will host Mount Olive on Tuesday evening at 6 p.m. in non-conference play. Admission to the match is free.
The Lady Broncos are entering the midweek tilt with a five-game winning streak and are currently 7-0 at home this season after sweeping Elizabeth City State, Chowan and Virginia State last weekend in their CIAA Mini Roundup. Fayetteville State is 12-2 on the season and 10-0 in CIAA play. The Trojans are a member of Conference Carolinas, and currently post a 7-8 overall record and 3-4 conference mark.
Mount Olive defeated the Lady Broncos is the only meeting between the two teams last season 3-1 (25-23, 23-25, 22-25, 21-25) in Mount Olive, NC.
Ifeyinwa Nwokolo (Sr., Greensboro, NC) continues to lead the Fayetteville State offense in 2012 as she has tallied 179 total kills, including 27, a career-high for a five-set match, in her last match against Virginia State. Molly Farrington (Jr., Fayetteville, NC) has dished out a team-high 198 assists on the season, while JaMisha Jordan (Jr., Fayetteville, NC) has a team-leading 181 digs and 46 service aces.
Carly White currently leads the Trojans on offense with 159 total kills, and Nicole Karas has 349 assists on the season. Nicole Sparks has a team-best 129 digs, while White has 38 total blocks and Karas 18 service aces.
