FAYETTEVILLE - It was a good week for the Fayetteville State Volleyball team.

The Broncos, led by two-time CIAA Player of the Year Chekimbrell Jefferson and first-year head coach Resheemah Johnson, downed conference-power Chowan and St. Augustine's.

For their efforts, Johnson and Jefferson were honored by the CIAA on Tuesday.

Jefferson, a junior from Laurel Hill, N.C., had 25 kills, six service and eight digs on the week, including a 14-kill performance against the Falcons.

Johnson has helped pick up the Broncos from 0-5 start to the season. Since Sept. 11, FSU has won six straight conference matches and has dropped only three contests.

Jefferson, Johnson and the Broncos host Shaw tonight at 6 p.m. in Capel Arena. Admission is free.
