THREE LADY BRONCOS NAMED TO CIAA PRESEASON ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM

Hampton, VA - The Lady Broncos started their 2007 season on the right foot by having three of its players named to the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Preseason Volleyball All-Conference Team as selected by the CIAA Volleyball Coaches' Association.

Named to the team were senior Sha'Quana Veney, one of the conference top returning players, and a member of the 2006 CIAA Volleyball All-Conference Team. Veney, a native of Richmond, Virginia, is a physical education major. She was ranked second in the CIAA in digs per game, averaging 3.54 per game. This is the second straight year Veney have received preseason honors. Her teammate junior Heather Chance, also a 2006 All-Conference player, is a right side hitter. The Dallas, Texas native was ranked eighth in block shots, averaging 0.70 per game. Junior Shatia Gidrey, a utility player, is a native of Jacksonville, North Carolina. Her mother Monique Sharpless played for the Lady Broncos and coach Elorine Hill from 1994-1995, average 0.80 blocks per game.

The Lady Broncos opened its 2007 season at Lenoir-Rhyne Volleyball invitation against Queen (NC) College) at Hickory, North Carolina.
