RALEIGH - Chekimbrell Jefferson tallied a match-high 16 kills and was one of three Fayetteville players to have 10 or more kills in the Broncos' 3-1 (22-25, 25-15, 25-23, 25-13) win over Shaw on Tuesday.
Freshman Ifeyinwa Nwokolo had 12 kills and four blocks while junior Samantha Meeks added 10 kills.
The Broncos (14-7, 11-1 CIAA), under the guidance of first-year head coach Resheemah Johnson, have won 11 straight CIAA matches.
FSU's last conference setback was a 3-1 loss to Elizabeth City State on Sept. 12 during the CIAA Roundup.
Jefferson also had nine digs and six blocks. Junior setter Achari Mainor amassed a match-high 38 assists.
Seniors Gewyl Galberth, Jefferson and Callie Huffman will be honored on senior night Monday at Capel Arena. The Broncos will face Johnson C. Smith and the match will start at 6 p.m.
