WINSTON-SALEM, NC - The Fayetteville State volleyball team traveled to Winston-Salem for its first divisional match. Unfortunately, the Lady Broncos will return home with a 3-1 loss the Winston-Salem State (5-4 overall, 5-0 CIAA); 25-13, 23-25, 25-21, and 29-27.

Fayetteville State (1-4 Overall/CIAA, 0-1 Division) was led by senior middle hitter Joylene Thompson (Spanish Town, JA) on offense; who had a team high eight kills and 21 total attacks. Outside hitter Shavon Shaw (Bethel, NC) followed with seven kills on 24 attacks. Paige Horne (setter - Southern Pines, NC) finished with a double-double of 16 set assists and 11 digs while libero JaMisha (Fayetteville, NC) Jordan registered a game high 25 digs.

The Lady Broncos finished with 35 kills on 156 attacks; but was hampered with 34 attack errors. Winston-Salem State tallied 48 kills, 21 errors and 154 attacks.

WSSU senior outside hitter Katelin Wensley led the Lady Rams' effort with a double-double effort with 14 kills and 17 digs. Junior middle hitter Darissa Jones added 10 kills. Senior libero Katelyn Sigala added a team-high 19 digs.
