Savannah, GA - Armstrong Atlantic State University, the Region's No. 2 ranked team, defeated Fayetteville State University, the CIAA Champions, 5-0 in the first round of the Mid-Atlantic Tennis Regional Thursday, morning, May 3rd. AASU (26-0) won all three doubles matches over the Lady Broncos by identical scores of 8-0. The Lady Pirates clinch the match when Dziyana Nazaruk defeated FSU's Constance Lee 6-0, 6-2 at the No. 2 singles and Martina Beckman picked up the win over Arie Bennett at the No. 6 singles 6-0, 6-0.

Ines Nieves, the CIAA Player of the Year, winning streak was ended at 26 by Johanna Dahlback 6-0, 3-0 (match stopped - clinch).
