LADY BRONCOS TENNIS BLANKS BOWIE STATE 9-0 AT HOME

Fayetteville, NC – The Fayetteville State women’s tennis team swept Bowie State University in a 9-0 win on Saturday, April 8th at the Capel Tennis Complex. FSU improves to 3-7 overall and in the CIAA, while the Lady Bulldogs fall to 0-7 overall and in conference.

The Lady Broncos swept doubles competition for a 3-0 lead entering singles play. Senior Selena Cox (Wilmington, NC) and sophomore Staisha Cain (Wilson, NC) teamed up for an 8-1 victory in the number one doubles flight. Sophomore Destiney Jordan (Manhattan, NY) and freshman Brittany Doss (Angier, NC) bested Jocelyn Williams and Kionza Allen 8-0 in the second doubles match.

The freshmen duo of Tajah Clark (Clayton, NC) and junior Asia Potts (Rock Hill, SC) picked up a forfeit win at the number three doubles spot.

FSU dominated the singles matches as well. Cain, Cox, Jordan, Doss, Potts, and Clark won all six singles flights in respective order. The victory for Clark occurred due to forfeit.

Fayetteville State returns to the court for divisional play against Shaw University on Tuesday, April 11th. First serve is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. at the Capel Tennis Complex on the campus of FSU.
