Final Stats

RALEIGH - Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) power Shaw beat Fayetteville State 7-2, 7-2 in a doubleheader on Tuesday.

Freshman Jensine McMillan (Charlotte, NC) won No. 6 singles over the Bears' Janae Williams, in both matches, by default. The Broncos' (3-13, 2-11 CIAA) other points came from No. 3 doubles, where Schanelle Ebanks (Irvington, NJ) and Danielle Boone (Hallsboro, NC) won by default over Xania Stelle and Williams of Shaw (16-4. 13-0 CIAA).

In singles play, Lolia Kienka topped FSU's Shantana Donegan (Brooklyn, NY) 8-0 in both No. 1 singles matches and Fernanda Silva bested sophomore Amber Mitchell (Red Springs, NC) 8-0 in each No. 2 singles match.

Ebanks, playing No. 5 singles, and Tiane Ellis, playing No. 4 singles, were the only FSU players to win a game. Ebanks fell to Xania Stelle 8-1 in both matches while Ellis dropped the first match 8-1 and the second 8-0 to Evan Okafor.

FSU will be back in action on Thursday when it hosts division-rival Livingstone for a critical doubleheader. The match is set to begin at 1 p.m.
