LADY BRONCOS TENNIS SUFFERS A 9-0 DIVISIONAL LOSS TO WINSTON-SALEM STATE

Winston-Salem, NC – The Fayetteville State University women’s tennis team suffered a 9-0 loss to Winston-Salem State University on Monday, April 4th at the WSSU Tennis Courts. FSU moves to 1-7 overall and in the CIAA.

Junior Selena Cox (Wilmington, NC) recorded the only set point of the afternoon for FSU in number one singles. Garielle Lindsay earned an 8-1 victory over Cox in the match.

Junior Vanaysha Graham (Tabor City, NC), sophomore Caitlyn Gilliam (District Heights, MD), sophomore Octavia Gilmore (Marston, NC) and freshman Destiney Jordan (Manhattan, NY) all fell in singles competition 8-0 from the number two to number five flights, respectively.

Miranda Legg won the number six flight for the Lady Rams by default. Winston-Salem State swept doubles competition. Cox and Graham lost 8-0 to Garielle Lindsay and Aja Grant. Gilliam and Gilmore fell in number two double 8-0 to Alexus Morgan and Devan Corpening.

The Lady Broncos return to their home courts for the next match against Livingstone College on Saturday, April 9th. First serve is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. at the Mazarick Park Tennis Courts.
