Lady Broncos Extends Winning Streak to 82

Final Stats

Fayetteville State University tennis team won both of the matches Saturday, March 24 at North Carolina Central University. The first match of the evening, the Lady Broncos squared-off with the Lady Eagles of North Carolina Central and came away with its 82nd consecutive conference win defeating NCCU 9-0. The win improved their divisional record to 4-0 and their divisional wins to 44 matches.

Later that evening, the Lady Broncos defeated Spartanburg-Methodist College, 9-0. Ines Nieves, the Lady Broncos' sensational singles player, improved her winning streak with singles victories over the Lady Eagles and Lady Pioneers, to 16 consecutive matches. Not to be outdone, the doubles combination of Arie Bennett and Contessa Sanchez, are currently riding an eight-match winning streak. All members of the Lady Broncos tennis squad, singles and doubles, are undefeated in conference and divisional action.

Saturday's win improved FSU record to 12-4 overall; 7-0 CIAA and 4-0 in the Western Division.
