Fayetteville State added women’s tennis as a varsity sport in 2002. Since the inception of the program, this is the first time FSU women’s tennis has opened the season with a victory.

“Us getting a win to start the season makes me excited and relieved,” said first year head coach Erika Gee Harris. “I’m relieved that all the hard work and commitment that these young women have put forth is paying off. I definitely owe our early success to the support of the administration and the assistance of my coaching staff.”

Fayetteville State returns to the courts this weekend (March 11-12) as participants in the CIAA Roundup I hosted by Elizabeth City State University. The Lady Broncos will play Bowie State on Saturday, March 11th at 9:00 a.m., followed by another 9:00 a.m. match on Sunday, March 12th against Virginia Union.
