LADY BRONCOS SOFTBALL WILL HOST TALLADEGA FOR THE “BALL IN PINK” GAME ON MARCH 22ND

Fayetteville, NC – The Fayetteville State University women’s softball team will face Talladega College on Wednesday, March 22nd in a non-conference doubleheader for the annual “Ball in Pink” event. Game one is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. from the Lamon Street Park.

Universities across the nation are unified together in helping to raise money through annual athletic contests to spotlight breast cancer awareness. This is the seventh year overall that Fayetteville State University is participating and the third “Ball in Pink” event for softball. The money raised at the FSU game will be donated to Cape Fear Valley Health Foundation Friends of the Cancer Center.

The Lady Broncos recently completed the CIAA North-South Roundup with a 3-1 record. FSU defeated Virginia Union (10-2), Chowan (1-0), and Virginia State (3-0). Fayetteville State only suffered a 1-0 loss to Bowie State in the first competition of the event.

The Tornadoes enters this matchup with an 8-18 overall record. Talladega College is a NAIA program within the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference (GCAC). The team dropped their last two games on the road to Reinhardt. Talladega is 8-12 on the road this season.

“We’re working to improve each game, but aside from focusing on the games; it’s an honor to be a part of the Ball in Pink initiative,” said head coach Jackie Stickley.

Admission to the “Ball in Pink” game and all home FSU softball games is free and open to the student body and general public. Lamon Street Park is located at 121 Lamon Street in Fayetteville, NC.
