FSU faced Chowan twice in the tournament

PETERSBURG, VA- The Chowan University softball team captured a 15-3 win over Fayetteville State University on Friday morning. The Hawks advance to take on Virginia Union University at the Petersburg Sports Complex and will fight to stay alive in the loser's bracket.
The Hawks struck in their first at bat and left Fayetteville State trailing 7-0 after one inning complete.
The Lady Broncos scored three runs in the top of the third using Brittany Freeman's RBI single and Alex Wickham's two-run double. Amanda Anderson and Daniqua Taylor both reached base with a single and advance into scoring position from a wild pitch prior to Freeman's and Wickham's bat.
A three-run double and a passed ball led to four more runs for Chowan in the third. The Hawks scored four runs off four hits in the bottom of the fourth before securing the 15-3 victory.
Fayetteville State finished the game with five hits and one error. Chowan had a total of 14 total hits with one error
