FAYETTEVILLE, NC - The Fayetteville State softball team returned home on Tuesday afternoon and dropped two contests to the West Chester Golden Rams (15-6 overall) at Seabrook Park. The Lady Broncos dropped a 3-0 loss in game one and 9-0 in five innings of game two.

Fayetteville State starting pitcher Kristen Bell (Fr., Hubert, NC) held West Chester's offense at bay through the first three innings; giving up just one hit. The Golden Rams broke through with one run in the top of the fourth and extended their lead to 3-0 in the sixth after plating two runs.

Bell took the loss after allowing eight hits and four strikeouts while pitching her tenth complete game of the season. Devon Utterback also went the distance for West Chester as she gave one hit and threw eight strikeouts to earn the victory.

Spencer Embler had the hit for Fayetteville State while Megan Kelly recorded three hits for the Golden Rams.

In game two, the Golden Rams recorded eight hits en route to a 9-0 win.

Marley Stubblefield collects the loss; pitching two innings while surrendering two runs on three hits. Kate Skokowski picked up the win; tossing a complete game shutout.

Sierra Henderson-Holmes (So., Olivia, NC) tallied one hit for the Lady Broncos in game two. Murray was one of three Golden Rams with two hits apiece to go with three RBI.

Fayetteville State will return to action on Thursday, Mar. 21 when it hosts Bowie State, Virginia Union and Lincoln (PA) in a CIAA Round-Up at Arnette Park. FSU faces Bowie State at 10 a.m., Virginia Union at 1 p.m. and Lincoln (PA) at 4 p.m. Arnette Park is located at 2165 Wilmington Highway in Fayetteville.
