RALEIGH, NC - Fayetteville State defeated Saint Augustine's 11-1 and 17-3 in a Central Intercollegiate Athletic Associaton (CIAA) softball doubleheader Thursday at the Walnut Creek Softball Complex. Sophomore pitcher Misty Huber led the Broncos (11-15, 4-3 CIAA) to their fourth straight CIAA win. Huber, a native of Orlando, FL, gave up only four hits and had 19 combined strikeouts in the two wins. In her last four starts, Huber (5-9) has racked up 29 strikeouts and allowed just one earned run. Huber was 2-for-3 and drove in two runs in the first game. LaTonia Gatling (Suffolk, VA) and Rita Diaz (Fayetteville, NC) had two RBI's each for the Broncos. Gatling also had two hits and scored a run.

In the second game, Covington went 2-for-3 with a double and four RBI for the Broncos. Diaz went 1-for-3 at the plate and added three RBI. FSU scored six runs in the second inning and five in the third. Gatling scored a team-high four runs, while Diaz, Branch and senior Doniecia Ebron (Belhaven, NC) crossed home plate three times.

The Broncos travel to Charlotte to face Johnson C. Smith in a doubleheader on Wednesday. First pitches are set for 2 and 4 p.m.
