LADY BRONCOS DROP DOUBLE HEADER TO CONCORD COLLEGE

The Lady Broncos look to rebound from the loss against Glenville State on March 12, 2007

March 12, 2007

Concord College's pitcher Melinda Bowman held Fayetteville State's batters to 14 hits in the non-conference game played at Arthur "Monk" Smith Athletic Complex. In the first contest, Bowman limited the Lady Bronco batters to three hits and one run as Concord rolled to a 16-1 win. Erica Jester, Shatia Gidrey, and Sade Morris were the only FSU batters to record hits.

The second contest saw the Lady Broncos' hitting improve but their defense would commit 10 errors which allowed seven unearned runs, as they dropped an 11-4 seven-inning game. Ariel McNair led FSU's batters, going 3-for-4. Three other batters, DeOndra Peterson, Shatia Gidrey and Dominique Mills gathered two hits in FSU's hitting attack, which accounted for four runs. Gidrey also had a double.

The loss dropped FSU to 0-6 for the season while Concord College improved to 3-3.
