FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The Fayetteville State Lady Broncos opened their 2012 softball season by dropping a doubleheader at St. Andrews on Friday.

Fayetteville State lost by the scores of 9-1 and 16-3.

Sierra Henderson-Holmes (Fr., Olivia, N.C.) and Zaonna Mackey (Fr., Charlotte, N.C.) each had three hits for the Lady Broncos (0-2) while Clara Davis (So., Naples, Italy), Sencerae Locklear (Fairmont, N.C.), Ashley Wlezen (Jr., Charlotte, N.C.) and Kalneisha Drawhorn (Fr., Rowland, N.C.) had two hits apiece.

Fayetteville State plays three games on Saturday in Raleigh as part of a round-robin tournament. The Lady Broncos will face Virginia University of Lynchburg, Barton and West Liberty. The Lady Broncos will play twice more on Sunday in Raleigh, with games against Lees-McRae and a nonconference tilt with Shaw.
