Alexis (Alex) Wickham joins the Fayetteville State staff as an assistant softball coach after graduating from Fayetteville State University in 2016 with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Physical Education. She will work with the outfielders as well as managing other day to day responsibilities.

Wickham was a three-year letter winner, two-time All-CIAA selection, a 2015 CIAA Commissioner's All-Academic selection and a 2016 All-CIAA preseason selection for the Lady Broncos softball program. She received All-CIAA First Team honors in 2016 and All-CIAA Second Team honors at the conclusion of 2015; both as a centerfielder.

In her senior season (2016), Wickham has played in all 37 games and led FSU in at-bats (112), runs scored (34), RBIs (33), as well as homeruns (6). She produced 29 hits, including six doubles and two triples. Wickham had a .509 slugging percentage, .372 on-base percentage, and a .259 batting average.

In her junior season (2015), she led Fayetteville State in 13 categories, including batting average (.446), slugging percentage (.632), on-base percentage (.495), runs scored (23), hits (42), RBIs (26), and stolen bases (8). Wickham ranked 26th nationally (NCAA DII) in batting average and 1st in toughest to strikeout.

In 2014, Wickham was one of four Fayetteville State student-athletes selected to receive the Division II Athletics Directors Association (DII ADA) Academic Achievement Award. One of the requirements for the award was student-athletes must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

Wickham began her collegiate career at Greensboro College before transferring to FSU. As a student-athlete at Fayetteville State, she played in 106 games with 320 at-bases, 101 hits, 74 runs scored, 19 doubles, nine homeruns, and 81 RBIs. Wickham finished with a career hitting percentage of .316 and a slugging percentage of .491.
