FAYETTEVILLE STATE HONORS ITS STUDENT-ATHLETES AT AWARDS BANQUET

Fayetteville State University celebrated the accomplishments of its student-athletes at the 24th Annual All-Sports banquet, held on Tuesday evening (March 21) inside the Capel Arena. Junior L'Oreal Price (Raleigh, NC) and sophomore Richard Medlin (Raleigh, NC) were honored as the female and male Student-Athletes of the Year. Freshman Kristen Britt (Delco, NC) and Paul Murphy (Charlotte, NC) were this year's recipients of the Meritous Award. [+]

FAYETTEVILLE STATE FALLS 9-1 TO BOWIE STATE IN CIAA SOFTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

Fayetteville State fell behind 6-0 after the first two innings and ended the 2009 softball season with a 9-1 loss to Bowie State in the conference championship game. Bowie State will enter the record books with its third conference crown in a row. Catcher Alicia Frank, pitcher Kristen Britt, and centerfielder Dominique Mills were named to the CIAA All-Tournament Team. [+]

FAYETTEVILLE STATE ADVANCES IN SOFTBALL TOURNEY

Fayetteville State will continue in the winner's bracket with a defeat 10-1 defeat over Elizabeth City State in the CIAA Softball tournament. In five innings, Tracey Brighter gave up a hit in the top of the fourth inning. The Lady Broncos (24-23 overall) had one homerun, one triple, and three doubles with 24 at bats. [+]
