Fayetteville honored its student-athletes and celebrated the 2009 CIAA Golf and Football Champions and the 2009-10 CIAA Women's Basketball Champions.

4/21/10 - Softball

FSU HONORS STUDENT-ATHLETES AT ANNUAL AWARDS BANQUET

Fayetteville State put a cap on the 2009-10 athletic season at the 25th annual athletic awards banquet held Wednesday inside Capel Aprena. Junior Tiffany Haywood (Fayetteville, NC) and senior Marcos Esquivel (Kearny, AZ) were honored as the female and male athletes of the year. Juniors Kristy Mitchell (Fayetteville, NC) and Paul Murphy (Charlotte, NC) were given the female and male meritorious awards. Ray Thomas, host of the Bronco Café on 91.9 WFSS and voice of the Broncos, presided over the event and assisted in paying homage more than 200 student athletes in nine sports at FSU. [+]

FSU will honor celebrate the 2009-10 season on Wednesday. Doors on the second floor of Capel Arena open at 6:45 p.m.

FSU TO HOST ANNUAL AWARDS PRESENTATION ON WEDNESDAY

The Fayetteville State Department of Athletics will celebrate the best of the past year at its annual awards presentation on Wednesday inside Capel Arena. Doors on the second floor will open at 6:45 p.m. and the presentation is free to the public. FSU will honor student-athletes from each sport and will give out the Male and Female Athlete of the Year awards. [+]

JCSU HANDS BRONCOS SEASON-ENDING LOSS

Fayetteville State's season came to an end on Friday after a 5-3 loss to Johnson C. Smith in the CIAA Tournament. FSU finished the season 17-21. Seniors Tracey Brighter (Spring Lake, NC), Donieca Ebron (Belhaven, NC) and Shahiree Covington (Scotland County, NC) played in their final game at FSU. [+]
