PAIGE BRAYBOY OF FAYETTEVILLE STATE NAMED CIAA ROOKIE BOWLER OF THE MONTH

Charlotte, NC -- Fayetteville State University women's bowling freshman Paige Brayboy (Maxton, NC) has been named the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Rookie Bowler of the Month for her performance during the CIAA North-South Divisional Event III held March 10-12, 2017. Monthly bowling honors are selected by the Bowling Coaches Association based on student-athlete performances.

The FSU Lady Broncos led the Southern Division with an undefeated 8-0 record and a total of 8,344 pins at the divisional event. Brayboy finished sixth overall at the event with a total of 1,278 total pins and 175.67 average pins/match. She had game-highs of 214 and 200 during team matches.

In the North, Virginia State placed first with a perfect 8-0 record and total of 8,291 total pins. Rebecca Clements led the team with 1,826 total pins and 182.60 average pins/match to earn March Bowler of the Month honors.

This is the fourth time this season a bowler from Fayetteville State has received Rookie of the Month honors. In addition to Brayboy, freshman Savannah Starling (Fayetteville, NC) earned the honor once and freshman Brittany Worthy (Durham, NC) has claimed the award twice.

The CIAA Southern Division champion Lady Broncos are now preparing for the 2017 CIAA Bowling Championships held March 24-26 in Chesapeake, VA.
