Fayetteville, NC - Sophomore Akira Turner delivered the best tournament average to lead Fayetteville State University to a first-place finish in the CIAA Western Division Bowling Tournament at B & B Bowling Lanes held November 7th - 9th. Turner bowled a 205.4 average including six matches where she bowled 200 or better. Senior Jessica Florit and freshman Kiara Reid were second and sixth, respectively, in terms of best tournament bowling averages. Florit rolled a team-high 262 and a 246 in the Lady Broncos second match of the three-day event. FSU scored 27 points to take home first place and finished 11-1 as a team. The Lady Broncos only loss came at the hand of Saint Augustine's College (823-740); that scored 20 points to finish second behind the defending CIAA champions (Fayetteville State). Johnson C. Smith was third with 16 points, Shaw placed fourth with nine points, and Livingstone finished fifth with eight points.
