Fayetteville State swept the final Western Division tournament of the season and gained its seventh straight CIAA Western Division title.
The Broncos conclude the regular season 60-2 in CIAA play.
FSU reached several milestones at the tournament held at B&B Lanes in Fayetteville. Under the direction of head coach Bobby Henderson, FSU amassed 3,978 Baker match total pins.
The Broncos tallied 10,002 total pins for team matches and, with its Baker pins, had a total of 13,980 pins. It's the first time a CIAA team has averaged 1,000 or more for the weekend in team play (1000.2). FSU was the only team to finish undefeated (19-0) in Baker play this season.
Henderson's team threw a total of 24 200 or better games in team play and 10 200 or better games in Baker play.
FSU is the first team to average 900 or better in team score for an entire season. FSU rolled 883 in the fourth Baker match, which is the highest in the conference this season.
Individually, Akira Turner, Jessica Styers and Clarisse Bible all averaged 200 or better for the Broncos. Turner led the tournament, averaging a 222.3, Bible was second with a 205.25 and Styers was third with a 200.3. Jessica Collins averaged a 197.25 for FSU, Jamie Donnelly a 187.2 and Kelly Wakerhauser a 182.1.FSU's Kiara Reid didn't bowl because of injury.
Johnson C. Smith's Sasha Thornhill was the next highest bowler, averaging a 179.8.
JCSU finished second with a 9-6 record and 10,755 pins to its credit. Shaw went 7-8 and finished third with 10,494 total pins
