FSU Bowlers Continue to Dominate the CIAA with a Second Sweep of the North

Raleigh, NC – The Fayetteville State women’s bowling team remain unbeaten in CIAA play after sweeping its Northern Division opponents today in the second round of the roundup.

The Broncos took down Elizabeth City State (822-612), Chowan (930-664), Virginia Union (842-623), Virginia State (864-660), and Bowie State (885-739).

Brittany Worthy led the day with a 231 game against Chowan and a 230 against Bowie State. For the day, Worthy had a pin count of 984 for a 196.8 average She has the team’s best two-day average of 182.0 in 10 games.

Devondra Bazemore has the second-best two-day average of 178.0 after knocking down 914 pins today. She had 190+ pins in three games and finished with a 182.8 average in today’s five games.

The January CIAA Bowler of the Month, Savannah Starling ranks third with a 165.6 average in 10 games. Her total pins for the day was 803, which makes her grand total for the roundup 1,656.

Fayetteville State has an overall conference record of 33-0. The Broncos will finish the roundup with five Baker games on Sunday.
