FSU’s Jamesha Mosley Named CIAA Week #4 Newcomer of the Week

Charlotte, NC – The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association in conjunction with its Women’s Basketball Coaches and Sports Information Directors Associations named Fayetteville State’s Jamesha Mosley this week’s Newcomer of the Week.

Jamesha Mosley, a transfer senior from Kentucky State and a native of Oak Grove, KY, has been the go-to-scorer for the Broncos women’s basketball team.

Leading the team with 12.7 points per game, Mosley scored 16 points in Fayetteville State’s recent 81-40 win over Morris College. In 23 minutes played, she was 5-of-6 (83.3%) from the floor and a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line. Mosely grabbed five boards, dished out two assists, and had one steal.

For the season, Jamesha is averaging 26.9 minutes in seven games played with seven starts. She is shooting 52.4% (33-63) in field goals and 79.3% (23-29) from the charity stripe. Mosley is also averaging 5-6 rebounds per game.

Fayetteville State will open conference play on Thursday, December 14th against Chowan University. The women will have the prime-time game at 7:30 pm, following the men’s game at 5:30.

The Department of Athletics at Fayetteville State will host Community Month. All FSU basketball games during the month of December will have FREE admission for the community and fans.
