CHARLOTTE - Several members of the Fayetteville State women's basketball team returned to the scene of one of the greatest moments in school history on Wednesday.

Along with the entire FSU coaching staff, seniors L' Oreal Price, Tressa Aughburns and Randi Watts -- as well as junior LaQuasha Jordan -- were honored prior to the Charlotte Bobcats' regular-season finale against the Chicago Bulls.

Just 47 days ago, the Broncos captured their third CIAA title with a 66-50 win over Bowie State.

"When you come back here it brings back memories of us winning a championship," said Aughburns. "It was a little different. We weren't in the locker room trying to get focused and ready for a game. This time we just spectated and watched someone else play."

Before the game, the players and coaching staff were brought to mid-court and given a raucous applause from Bobcats fans on fan appreciation night.

"This was great for the girls and great for the school," said Broncos head coach Eva Patterson-Heath. "It keeps this alive a little bit longer."

In the nearly eight weeks since winning the CIAA Championship, the Broncos have had a celebration held in their honor at Capel Arena and have been given a special congratulation from the city of Fayetteville and the Fayetteville town council.

Aughburns said the recognition will never get old.

"We'll always be celebrating," she said. "I feel like, for us, 2009-10 will always be our year. We'll always be able to look back on it."
