LADY BRONCOS TOP Livingstone 66-49
FAYETTEVILLE, NC -- A slow start proved no problem for the Fayetteville State University women's basketball team, as the Lady Broncos rolled to a 66-49 win against Livingstone on Wednesday afternoon at Felton J. Capel Arena.

Amber Calvin (Fayetteville, NC) continues to be among the CIAA's best scorers. Her 15.2 points per game rank third in the league.

Deja Middleton (Richmond, VA) recorded her 11th double-double of the season against Winston-Salem State. In that contest, she had 15 points and a career-high 22 rebounds. That rebound total upped her average this season to 11.6 per game, easily the best in the conference.

Akysia Resper (Concord, NC) is eighth in the league in assists (3.6 per game) and second in steals (2.8 per game).

Livingstone (12-11, 7-6, 34) enters this one fresh off a 65-57 loss to Johnson C. Smith.

Cierra York is the second-highest scorer in the conference, averaging 15.2 points per contest. In conference play, York has averaged 16.4 points per game.

Taylor Daniels is the fifth-best rebounder in the league, averaging 8.4 rebounds per game.

Fayetteville State has controlled the all-time series between these two teams, winning 51 of 68 meetings, including a 66-49 win on January 22.

Against Winston-Salem State, the Lady Broncos finished the first half strong and finished the game the same way. Middleton's big game added more than half a rebound to her per-game average in the process.

Calvin contributed 14 points for FSU.

The Lady Broncos are in their 62nd season as a program and have compiled an all-time record of 597-402 and 341-244 record in the CIAA. Since joining the CIAA in 1953-54, Fayetteville State has tallied ten 20-win seasons including a school-record 25 in 1996-97. FSU has made five NCAA Division II Playoff appearances with the last coming in 2009-10.

After this contest, FSU plays one more road game at Shaw on Wednesday. After that, the Lady Broncos conclude the regular season at home against St. Augustine's on Saturday.
