FAYETTEVILLE, NC – The Fayetteville State women’s basketball team has moved ahead five spots in this week’s USA Today Sports Division II Top 25 Coaches’ Poll. The Lady Broncos are now ranked 20th in the poll with 152 total points. FSU was victorious in its lone contest last week, 81-48, over Johnson C. Smith in Fayetteville.

The Lady Broncos are currently 19-3 on the season and 11-1 in the CIAA heading into their contest with the Livingstone College Lady Blue Bears on Wednesday evening. Fayetteville State is tied for first in the CIAA Southern Division standings, along with Shaw, at 5-1. Shaw is ranked 15th in the USA Today Sports Poll with 337 points.

FSU’s 33-point triumph over Johnson C. Smith on Feb. 9 represents the largest margin of victory this season in conference play. Fayetteville State is presently riding a four-game winning streak heading into the matchup with Livingstone.

The Lady Broncos are 20th nationally in scoring offense averaging 73.4 points per game. That mark also puts them second in the conference behind Shaw.

The Ashland Eagles remain atop the weekly standings at No. 1. The Eagles received 31 first-place votes for a total of 775 points.

Fayetteville State will tip off against Livingstone at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Felton J. Capel Arena.
