FAYETTEVILLE, NC - The Fayetteville State women's basketball team finishes its longest road trip of the season and last one out of North Carolina at Bowie State on Monday at 5:30 pm. The Lady Broncos are fresh off of a 68-63 defeat at Virginia Union, but still have the potential for a 2-1 road trip and a 4-2 start in the CIAA. FSU started the trip with a 70-65 win at Lincoln (PA).

Storylines
The Lady Broncos finish up a three-game road trip against teams from the Northern Division. It's also the last Northern Division team FSU will play until the CIAA Tournament.

Bowie State is one of three Northern Division teams with exactly one conference win. Only Virginia State (3-1) has a winning CIAA record from the Northern Division.

Deja Middleton had her sixth double-double of the season in the loss against Virginia Union. Bria Robinson also had her first double-double in the game.

Middleton leads the conference in rebounding at 10.9 rebounds per game. Amber Calvin, after a few stellar offensive performances, is now third in the CIAA at 15.0 points per game.

The Lady Broncos are in their 62nd season as a program and have compiled an all-time record of 590-401 and 334-243 record in the CIAA. Since joining the CIAA in 1953-54, Fayetteville State has tallied ten 20-win seasons including a school-record 25 in 1996-97. FSU has made five NCAA Division II Playoff appearances with the last coming in 2009-10.

Virginia Union Recap
Despite double-doubles from Deja Middleton and Bria Robinson and 21 points from Amber Calvin, Fayetteville State was not able to hold off Virginia Union.

The Lady Panthers limited FSU to 23.5-percent first-half shooting to build a lead. The Lady Broncos came back to take a 61-50 lead, but then VUU's defense clamped up once again, the Lady Panthers went on a 12-0 run and were able to come away with a win.

Bowie State Scouting Report
The Lady Bulldogs are under the direction of fourth-year head coach Renard Smith. Smith is 40-51 in his tenure with Bowie State, including a 6-7 mark this season.

Bowie State enters this game fresh off of a 69-58 home loss to Shaw. It was the fourth consecutive loss for the Lady Bulldogs, who started the conference season with a 75-63 win against Livingstone.

Denver Clyde is fifth in the conference at 8.6 rebounds per game. She is also eighth in the CIAA at 13.8 points per game. Ashley Castle averages 12.5 points per game.

Nobody in the league makes more 3-pointers than Bowie State's 5.8 per game.
