LAKELAND, FL - Amber Calvin scored 25 points and Deja Middleton recorded a double-double (16 points, 13 rebounds) as Fayetteville State topped Florida Southern, 65-60, on Saturday afternoon in Lakeland, Fla., to go unbeaten in a weekend trip in the sunshine state.
The Lady Broncos (7-2), just a day after holding off the University of Tampa, never trailed at the host Mocassins. FSU limited their opponent to just 17 first-half points en route to building a 15-point halftime lead.
FSU scored the game's first eight points, then the Mocassins responded with the next seven to creep within one. That's as close as Florida Southern got.

The Lady Broncos scored the first four points of the second frame to go up by 19. The Mocassins got to within 12, at 50-48 with 7:47 to play. They didn't get any closer.

The Lady Broncos are now off until after New Year's. They begin conference play against Chowan at home on Jan. 2.
