Kristen Hanzer finished a few shy of a triple-double

FAYETTEVILLE, NC - Kristen Hanzer led an aggressive Lady Bronco stampede as Fayetteville State (6-1 overall) bucked Salem International 90-46 in Felton J. Capel Arena. Hanzer scored a game high 21 points and finished two assists and one steal shy of a season first triple-double. FSU converted 44 Lady Fighting Tigers (5-7 overall) turnovers into 42 points. The Lady Broncos led 43-17 at halftime.
Kristen Hanzer (Youngsville, NC) led the game in scoring (21 points), assists and steals. She dished out eight assists and had nine steals. Shuanda Ashford (Fayetteville, NC) and Alicia Person (Henderson, NC) were both on the receiving end of those dish outs. The two scored a dozen points each while Akysia Resper (Concord, NC) and DaQuondra Cuthbertson (Spencer, NC) also scored in double-figures with 11 and ten points, respectfully.
Fayetteville State shot the lead up to 28 (43-15) with under two-and-a-half minutes left in the first half. The Lady Broncos forced 24 turnovers and limited Salem International to 6-of-23 shooting from the field.
The game continued to spiral out of control in the second half as FSU commanded a 49-point lead (86-37) with 3:11 left in the game.
The Lady Broncos will travel to Raleigh, NC this weekend for a pair of games in Shaw University's Spaulding Gymnasium. On Friday, Fayetteville State will face Nova Southeastern at 4:00 pm and Washington Adventist on Saturday at 7:00 pm.
