The Lady Broncos lost a 78-67 decision at Shaw that evens up both teams with one game to play. FSU (18-6 overall, 11-4 CIAA, 7-2 Southern Division) can still clinch at least a share of the division title with a win in its regular season finale on Saturday.

Akysia Resper (Concord, NC) scored a season-high 27 points on 9-of-15 shooting. Amber Calvin (Fayetteville, NC) added 15 points and Deja Middleton (Richmond, VA) had nine points and 13 rebounds. The Lady Broncos shot 36.2 percent from the floor (25-of-69) and hit 8-of-22 (36.4 percent) of their 3-point tries.

The Shaw Lady Bears (17-8 overall, 11-4 CIAA, 7-2 Southern Division) shot 55.4 percent (31-of-56) and out-rebounded FSU, 43-34. Verdine Warner scored 22 points and had 18 boards to help the Lady Bears earn a split in the season series.

FSU started off strong, jumping out to a 10-6 lead with 16:53 to play in the first half. Shaw scored the next four points to tie things up and the teams stayed close for the remainder of the first half.

It was 53-45 with 15:11 to play before a small burst of offense help the Lady Broncos climb within 53-51. Shaw followed the run with an 8-0 spurt of its own to make it a double-digit ballgame.

From there, Shaw was able to extend its lead to as much as 18. FSU wasn't able to replicate a similar run to its overtime comeback at Livingstone on Monday.

This is the second straight year FSU and Shaw have split regular season meetings. The teams met a third time last season, with the Lady Bears topping the Lady Broncos in Charlotte in the 2013 CIAA Championship game.

Shaw finished the game with advantages in points off turnovers (19-17), points in the paint (44-28), second-chance points (13-11), fast-break points (14-6) and bench points (19-9). There were seven ties and eight lead changes.
