LAWRENCEVILLE, VA - The Lady Broncos of Fayetteville State seized late control of a dismal contest against St. Paul's (6-6, 1-4 CIAA) for a 72-68 victory in Lawrenceville, VA. Leticia Dickson scored a game high 20 points and nailed three of four late free throws to secure the victory. The Lady Tigers held a 26-24 halftime lead over Fayetteville State (8-6, 5-2 CIAA). St. Paul's College grabbed a slim lead in the first half which stretched as high as seven points with 13:54 remaining in the first half. The Lady Broncos tied the score for the third time (21-21) at the 2:53 mark. Tiffany Haywood made a layup at 2:16 to give FSU its first lead at 23-22. After intermission, the Lady Tigers increased its two-point half-time lead to 12 with 17:37 ticking away. Dickson sparked a 10-2 run to bring Fayetteville State within four with 13:28 on the clock by scoring eight of the ten points. The Lady Broncos seized the lead for good with 8:32 remaining, off of a pair of free throws by Dickson. She scored 16 points alone in the second half. L' Oreal Price chipped in nine points in the second half to give FSU its largest lead of six points and finished with a total of 14 points for the game. Saybah Sammy scored seven points in the half to finish in double figures with ten points along with Shacovia Sheppard who also finished with ten. Katrina Wright scored 16 points for the Lady Tigers while Brittany Christian netted 13. Tatiana Ellis and Gabrielle Johnson both scored ten points each.
