Brittany Parker joins the Fayetteville State women's basketball coaching staff as a part-time assistant, after a successful playing career at St. Augustine's College in Raleigh, N.C. As a senior for the Falcons, Parker started 17 games and averaged 7.2 points per game, while providing leadership for a young squad that finished 12-13. A native of Waterbury, Conn., Parker graduated from St. Augustine's in May with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. Eva Patterson-Heath, FSU's first-year head coach, met Parker earlier in 2009. "Her desire to learn about the game basketball is high," Patterson-Heath said. "I met her at the Women Basketball Coaches of America's (WBCA) 'So You Want To Be A Coach' seminar in April. She really stood out." Parker has worked at the prestigious Slamma Jamma Basketball Camp, which is the most attended basketball camp in Connecticut and is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. "We're very excited to have her as a part of the Bronco family," Patterson-Heath said |
