![]() 8/6/10 - Women's Basketball REIGNING CIAA CHAMPIONS LADY BRONCOS SIGN EIGHT TO PROGRAMThe defending Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Champion Fayetteville State women's basketball team announced the addition of eight newcomers. Second-year Head Coach Eva Patterson-Heath and her staff used the momentum from the school's third CIAA title - a 66-50 win over Bowie State in February - to secure a talented, deep and diverse recruiting class. Six of the Broncos' eight newcomers will enroll as true freshman while two will be juniors. Six of the recruits in Patterson-Heath's first class are from the Tar Heel state. Juniors Kristy Mitchell (Fayetteville, NC) and Paul Murphy (Charlotte, NC) were given the female and male meritorious awards. Ray Thomas, host of the Bronco Café on 91.9 WFSS and voice of the Broncos, presided over the event and assisted in paying homage more than 200 student athletes in nine sports at FSU.
