FSU Begins Lawrence Kershaw Era With First Spring Practice On Mar. 25 At 3:30 p.m.

FAYETTEVILLE, NC – The Fayetteville State football program will officially kick off the Lawrence Kershaw era next week with the start of spring football practice on Monday, Mar. 25. The Broncos will hold 13 practices over the course of three weeks which includes one scrimmage. The Spring Game is scheduled for Saturday, Apr. 13.
FSU has three practices scheduled for the first week on Mar. 25-27. The Broncos will practice in helmets for the first two days; and helmets and shoulder pads for the final workout of the week. Practices are scheduled to go from 3:30 p.m. until 6 p.m.
Fayetteville State has two full pad practices planned for the second week (Apr. 1-5) of practice on Apr. 2-3. FSU will practice in helmets and shoulder pads twice that week on Apr. 1 and Apr. 5; and only helmets for the Apr. 4 workout. All five practices during that week will go from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The Broncos will hold their first scrimmage of the spring at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Apr. 6 at Luther “Nick” Jeralds Stadium.
The final week of practice (Apr. 8-12) will consist of five practices leading up to the Spring Game on Saturday, Apr. 13 at 1 p.m. FSU has one full pad practice scheduled for Apr. 10; and are slated to go in helmets twice (Apr. 8, Apr. 10) and shoulder pads and helmets twice (Apr. 9, Apr. 12). Practice times are scheduled for 3:30 p.m. until 6 p.m.
Admission to the 2013 Spring Game is free of charge and will be held at Jeralds Stadium. The Fayetteville State Department of Athletics will host a variety of pre-game festivities beginning at 11:30 a.m. One of the events taking place prior to the game is A Taste of Bronco Football which will feature Fayetteville’s most popular restaurants distributing food samples while supplies last. A halftime performance is scheduled for the Marching Bronco Express as well as an appearance by Cheer Phi Smoov. There will also be a Spring Game Giveaway held during the inter-squad contest.
