"He's a great kid and to me that's probably the most important thing. He's a very hard-nosed runner and he has a great spin move he uses when he runs. He's one of our hardest workers in the weight room and he has great quickness for his size. Defensively, he was on NCPreps.com's all-state team. Of all the guys I've coached, and I've had some kids come through, he's one of the top three or four I've ever coached." - Manteo Head Coach Eddie Twyne

Antonio Mayo (Jacksonville HS, Jacksonville, N.C.) K/P - 6-foot, 175 pounds - All-Coastal 3-A Conference and All-Jacksonville Daily News first teams; Honorable Mention All-Coastal 3-A Conference in 2008;

"First off, he's a great kid from a great family. You don't have to worry about academics or him getting in trouble. He's a coachable kid that is trustworthy and dependable. The impressive thing about Tony is his range. He had two or three kicks that were 50+ yards. He would do all his kicking work for football and then go to soccer practice - it wasn't like he was just messing around. He was serious about both sports. We're very proud of him and excited about his future at Fayetteville State and we think he's going to be very successful." - Jacksonville Head Coach Ben Marsh

Chris Person (West Craven HS, Vanceboro, N.C.) DB 6-foot-1, 185 pounds - All-Sun Journal First Team two consecutive years; All-Coastal 3-A Conference two straight years; Started two years at WR and DB; Had six kickoff returns for touchdowns and two punt returns for touchdowns; 2,000 yards receiving and 20 touchdowns in career at West Craven; Seven interceptions last two seasons

"Chris has come a long way in the last couple of years. As far as athletics, I don't think I've ever been around an athlete that is good as he is. He's a really good receiver, but he has really good feet. He has all the tangibles to play defensive back. He understands the game and he's just a great kid who comes from a good home. In this time, you don't see to many high-character kids like him." - West Craven Head Coach Kevin Yost

"Hailey's an exciting player with great open field ability. He rushed for more than 2,000 yards and was one of the top players in our coverage area, which covers 120 schools. The Broncos are getting a difference-maker, a kid who could be special." - Langston Wertz Jr. Staff Writer, Charlotte Observer

"He's a horse, he's our thoroughbred. He can play tailback as well as fullback and is an excellent blocker. He knows the game and can play multiple positions on the field. Fayetteville State is a getting a complete player and a hard runner." - Monroe head coach Johnny Sowell

He's got the tools and has a great football IQ. He was 160 pounds when he got here and now he's a monster in the weight room and our strongest player." - H.P. Andrews Head Coach Rodney McKoy

"He was able to be a game-changer at times for H.P Andrews. In combination with Quan Stevenson (who is committed to Duke) they had a pretty potent one-two punch at linebacker." - Steve Hans, Sports Writer, The High Point Enterprise

Derrick Washington (Parkland HS, Winston-Salem, N.C.) DB - 6-foot, 165 pounds - First Team All-Piedmont Triad 4-A; Voted Most Improved Player by Parkland coaches; 64 tackles and two interceptions during senior season; Caught 36 passes for 375 yards and seven touchdowns in 2009

C.J. Montgomery (West Charlotte HS, Charlotte, N.C.) DL - 6-foot, 305 pounds - Two-time All-ME-CA 7 selection; One of only 45 players in North Carolina selected to 74th annual Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas "Son of one of the best athletes in Mecklenburg County history, Montgomery was a 3-year starter for the Lions and one of the most dominant blockers and run stoppers in his conference." - Langston Wertz Jr. Staff Writer, Charlotte Observer

Michael Fogg (Apex HS, Raleigh, N.C.) "I think overall he's a good person. He's one of those young men that you just enjoy being around. He doesn't have a lot to say but he has a great personality and is very polite and courteous. He's an aggressive player and a very hard hitter. One of his best assets is his feet. His feet are so quick that he can take on blockers and play off the blocker to make the tackle." - Apex Head Coach Bob Wolfe

He had a great visit to Fayetteville State - he just felt like that's where he wanted to call home. He's real excited and that's a credit to Coach Phillips." - Pinecrest Head Coach Chris Metzger

"I originally coached Hakeem his eighth grade year in middle school. Then I coached him his sophomore year in high school and noticed that he had an unbelievable talent. He possessed unbelievable speed for his size. I knew right away that he would be a guy that, if I had an opportunity to coach on the next level, he would be one of the first guys I'd try and recruit." - FSU defensive line coach Damien Adams

Marvin Crews (Hudson Valley CC, Brooklyn, N.Y.) FB/HB 6-foot-5, 265 pounds - Played and started at fullback for two seasons at Hudson Valley;

Bryce Williams (Mesa CC, St. Petersburg, Fla.) LB 6-foot-2, 215 pounds - Teammate of All-CIAA linebacker Marcos Esquivel; One of the top LB's in the Western States Football League at Mesa; Will be counted on to help replace one of the best linebacking corps in the CIAA;

"Short is one of the better football recruits out of Cumberland County this year. He was a member of the Douglas Byrd football team that played in the state championship game. He's a devastating blocker at the tight end position and he has also shown promise on the defensive side of the ball. He's strength will help him compete for playing time and a starting position. Keeping Cumberland County's best in Cumberland County is important to us and getting Short is a big step towards that goal." - FSU's Gary Lowery

Justin Hardy (West Craven HS, Vanceboro, N.C.) He has all the abilities, great character and he's going to be a big-time player. He'll make an instant impact at Fayetteville State." - West Craven Head Coach Kevin Yost
