DURHAM, NC – The Fayetteville State Broncos football team suffered a 45-28 defeat to the Shaw Bears on Saturday afternoon at Durham County Memorial Stadium in CIAA action. The Broncos fall to 1-5 on the season and 0-3 in the league. The Bears improve to 3-3 overall and 2-1 in conference play.

Quarterback Andreas Hudson (Sr., Philadelphia, PA) tossed a season-high two touchdown passes as he finished the game 19-for-37 for a career best 216 yards. Kasunn Williams (So., Rocky Mount, NC) had a team-high six catches for 77 yards, while Anthony Duran (Jr., Gilbert, AZ) added five catches for 54 yards and one touchdown.

Running Back Andre Montgomery (Fr., Goldsboro, NC) had over 100 yards rushing for the second straight contest as he tallied 107 yards on 16 carries. His longest scamper was for 45 yards. Montgomery also had two catches for seven yards and one touchdown.

The Broncos will return to Luther “Nick” Jeralds Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 13 as they stay in conference play to host Johnson C. Smith at 2 p.m.
