HAMPTON, VA - Fayetteville State center Louis Craft and Head Coach Alphonza Kee have been acknowledged by the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association for their performances in the Broncos' 69-67 come-from-behind victory against Brevard College. The league announced this afternoon that Craft has been selected as the CIAA Newcomer of the Week while Kee garnered CIAA Coach of the Week accolades.

Louis Craft, a junior from Fayetteville and Jack Britt High School, led FSU in scoring against the Tornadoes with a career-high 18 points on 8-of-10 shooting. He also added three blocks as Fayetteville State rallied from a 13-point first-half deficit to win its fourth straight contest.

The 6-10, 225-pound transfer from Sandhills Community College ranks third for the Broncos in scoring at 9.1 points per game. He has started in all nine games and averages 23 minutes per contest. Craft is grabbing an average of 6.0 rebounds per game and leads the team with 22 blocks. He is shooting 63% (34-of-54) from the field.

Alphonza Kee, who is in his fourth season as head coach, has guided Fayetteville State to a season-best four straight victories. The Broncos have improved to 5-4 overall heading into the start of conference play on Jan. 3 at Chowan.
