HAMPTON, VA - The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association, in conjunction with the CIAA Sports Information Directors Association, named their selections for conference men's basketball Player of the Week, Newcomer of the Week, Rookie of the Week and Coach of the Week awards on Monday.
Fayetteville State freshman Joshua Dawson was chosen the league's top rookie for the week ending November 30. The Kinston High School product poured in 12 points and recorded 10 assists in a 75-64 victory over Virginia-Lynchburg on Nov. 26.
Dawson has now scored in double-figures five separate times in seven total contests, including a 25-point performance against Notre Dame College on Nov. 9.
FSU is back in action with an exhibition contest against East Carolina in Greenville tonight at 7 o'clock. The Broncos return home to face Brevard College at 4 p.m. on Saturday.
