HAMPTON, VA - Fayetteville State point guard Anthony Shelton has been selected by the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association as its Player of the Week for his performance in the season-opening 83-63 victory over Barber-Scotia. Shelton, a 2011-12 CIAA All-Rookie Team member, earns his first weekly honor of the season. He scored a career-high 24 points against the Sabers in 24 minutes played. He shot 8-of-10 from the field and a career-best 6-of-8 behind the three-point arc. Shelton accounted for all but one three-pointer made by the Broncos. Twenty one of his 24 points came in the first half on 7-of-9 shooting and 5-of-7 on three-pointers.
