FAYETTEVILLE, NC - Entering his second year in charge of the Fayetteville State men's basketball program, Head Coach Alphonza Kee continues to bring an influx of talent to the Broncos' program. Kee and FSU will welcome six newcomers in the fall.

"Four of our guys are from North Carolina," Kee said. "We're trying to attack two goals, bringing in quality high school students. Then, with that, we're trying to increase our experience level. We tried to improve our overall talent and then continue to grow with high school athletes being the foundation of our program."

Devin Thompson, a 6-foot-4 guard from Jack Britt High School in Fayetteville, averaged 10.6 points, 6.1 rebounds and two assists for the Buccaneers. Thompson was named second team All-Mid-South 4-A by the conference's coaches in 2009.

Tyrell Tate, 6-foot-5 small forward and Donzell Hill, a 6-foot-7 forward, will be coming to FSU from Millbrook High School in Raleigh, NC.

Hill was an All-Cap 7 conference selection after averaging 18 points, 12 rebounds, four assists and two blocks per game. Tate, who averaged 16 points, five rebounds and two assists per game, was named District Player of the Year and selected to the All-State team.

Sidney Evans, Tim Plummer and John Herrington will enter FSU from powerful and successful junior college teams.

Herrington, a 6-foot-7 forward, averaged 7.4 points, six rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game at Florida State Community College. A native of Jacksonville, FL, Herrington was an All-Conference selection at FSCC and, while at Orlando Oakridge High School, was named high school athlete of the year.

Evans, originally from Durham, NC, amassed 12 points and seven rebounds per game while at Cecil Community College in North East, Maryland. At 6-foot-7, Evans is expected to help FSU both on the wing and in the paint.

Plummer, who will play point guard for the Broncos, was an All-Conference selection and averaged 15 points, five rebounds and five assists per game at State College of Florida at Bradenton.

At Fayetteville State, we want to have 10 or 11 guys playing hard and playing together," Kee said. "The junior college kids are ahead of the high school guys, but they'll all have a chance to play. These guys will make us better."

The 2010-11 season will tip-off in Capel Arena on November 12th against Hiwassee at 7:30 pm.
