Charlotte, NC - The CIAA Tournament Brackets have been released with Fayetteville State University drawing Lincoln (Pa.) University in the first round of the Men's 72nd Basketball Tournament on Tuesday, February 27th.
The Broncos finished fifth in the CIAA Southern Division with a 3-7 record and a 4-12 conference record. The Lions finished fourth in the North at 4-6 and 7-9.
The contest is scheduled to tip at 6:40 pm in the Bojangles' Coliseum in Charlotte, NC.
Fayetteville State has sold all of its allotted tickets, but seats are still available through Ticketmaster and the coliseum's box office.

A live broadcast (as well as live statistics) will be provided by the CIAA via its website (theciaa.com). The direct link to the video is http://theciaa.com/broadcast/50juci.
This will be the second time in tournament history that the Broncos take on the Lions of Lincoln (Pa.). Fayetteville State won the first meeting 81-74 in 2014.
Tonight's game will also mark the second time the two have played this season. Lincoln (Pa.) held off the Broncos in the final minutes of the January 5th meeting as FSU missed several attempts to tie the game. The Lions prevailed 65-62.
Fayetteville State is known for having magical runs in the CIAA Tournament. Having won its first championship in 1973, the Broncos have participated in seven championship games since 1972. Head Coach Ken Spencer led FSU to a championship appearance last year in his season at the helm.
Look for All-CIAA performer Josh Bryant (Fayetteville, NC) to lead the Broncos as he has done all season. Bryant averaged 20+ points per game to close out 2017. Despite the decline to his time on the court (due to a recent high ankle sprain), he remains the leading scorer with 15 points per game.
Senior Willie Gilmore (Fayetteville, NC) has been the one-two combination punch for the Broncos. If Bryant wasn't slashing the lanes and scoring, it will be Gilmore. Willie is second on the team with 13.4 points per game. He has started in all but two games (24 of 26) and averages the most minutes played (32.2).
Denzell Hosch (Shelby, NC) has been a deadly assassin from the three-point arc; when he is hot. He has a total of 75 threes for the season and averages 12.1 points per game. Hosch made a Broncos' record-breaking ten (10) made 3-pointers against West Florida on November 26th.
Fayetteville State will need these three in addition to its post players to spark another tournament run.
