Andy Gebru scored 19 points to lead Fayetteville State University to a 59-47 win over Livingstone College at Trent Gymnasium and capture a share of the CIAA Western Division Title with Johnson C. Smith University. Hazael Andrew grabbed nine rebounds to help the Broncos' strong defensive play in the low scoring contest which saw the Broncos take a 26-20 halftime lead. The defensive effort allowed the Blue Bears just 35 percent shooting from the field. The only other FSU's player to score in double-figures was Zeke Mayes with 13 points
The Broncos broke the game open with a 13-1 run in the second half to secure the win. The win gave the Broncos a fifth seed in the 62nd CIAA Men's Basketball Tournament and also gave them a first round bye.
The Broncos will return to action Thursday in the quarter finals against Saint Augustine's College at 3:00 p.m. This will be the third meeting between the two teams this season. They split their regular season meeting.
The Broncos closed out the 2006-2007 regular season play at 15-12 overall, 11-9 CIAA, 6-2 Western Division.
