Fayetteville State finished the regular season with a 7-20 overall record and 4-12 in the conference standings. The Broncos 3-7 divisional record pits FSU as the South’s No. 5 seed heading into the tournament.

Just released by the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association office, Fayetteville State University will face Lincoln University (Pa.) in the first round of the tournament on Tuesday, February 27th at 6:40 p.m. The game will be played in the Bojangles Coliseum in Charlotte, NC.

Fayetteville State lost to the Lions by three (65-62) in early January. FSU was down by one (63-62) with 2:25 left in the game. A pair of Lions’ free throws and a missed Bronco three-pointer with four seconds left sealed the game. That contest was amidst the winter storm that played havoc on the East coast.

The first-round winner will face the South’s No. 1 Johnson C. Smith on Wednesday at 8:50 p.m.

The single-elimination tournament will be held in two venues again this year: Bojangles' Coliseum February 27-28 and Spectrum Center March 1-3. The final championship contests will tipoff at 1:00 p.m. for the women with the men to follow at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 3.
