Broncos Fall on the Road 70-56 to Johnson C. Smith

Charlotte, NC – Fayetteville State had a tough time in Brayboy Gymnasium and suffered a 70-56 loss to Johnson C. Smith.

The Broncos are now 2-10 in the conference and 2-4 in the Southern Division. The Golden Bulls are undefeated (6-0) in the division and 9-2 in the CIAA with an eight-game win streak.

Jerimiah Pope led the effort with 15 points while the Broncos leading scorer, Josh Bryant, finished with 12.

Roddic Ross led the game with 18 points for the Golden Bulls. Arthur Bennett followed with 14 points and Robert Davis chipped in 10.

FSU rebounded from a slow start and a 36-21 halftime deficit to outscore the Golden Bulls 35-34 in the second half. The Broncos was led by its bench, which scored 37 of the 56 points, but shot 29% (18 of 62) from the floor. 

Fayetteville State will travel to Salisbury, NC on Saturday, February 10th for one of its five remaining regular-season games.
