Virginia Union rolled into the Capel Arena Tuesday night, December 5, 2006, unbeaten and left the arena with their record still in tack; defeating Fayetteville State 77-68. The first half had a quick tempo led by VUU's Brad Byerson, who had 10 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 steals in the first half. Byerson would finish the game with the same statistics, because 16 minutes into the first half Byerson was hit with his second technical foul and ejected from the game.

The Broncos were not able to keep up with Virginia Union's pace in the second half. VUU shot an outstanding 68.2 percent in the second half and had four players finish with double figures in points. FSU was led again by Andy Gebru with 20 points, Jamel Austin and Jesse Fells both contributed with 14 and 11 points, respectively.

The loss drops the Broncos record to 3-3 overall and 1-1 in the CIAA. Virginia Union still perfect with a 3-0 record overall and in the CIAA.
