Bowie State Defeats Fayetteville State 79-59

Bowie, MD - Joshua Bryant returns to double-digit scoring, but Fayetteville State is grieving a 79-59 loss to Bowie State.

Bryant, who was averaging 20.5 points per game prior to the three-game Northern swing, scored a game-high 18 points against the Bulldogs. Joshua, a native of Fayetteville, hit five points against Lincoln (Pa.) and a season-low three versus Virginia Union.

Willie Gilmore scored his second consecutive 15-point game.

Fayetteville State (4-11, 1-4 CIAA) led by five (19-14) at the 8:56 first half mark, but trailed 35-29 at halftime.

Bowie State (7-9, 2-3 CIAA ) managed a 22-point lead at the 64-42 mark with 8:36 left in the game.

Cameron Hayes led the Bulldogs with 17 points while Omari George added 13. Keith Duffin, Jr. finished with 11.

Fayetteville State will return to Felton J. Capel Arena on Saturday, January 13th for a 2 and 4 pm divisional doubleheader against Johnson C. Smith University. The Broncos will host Military Appreciation Day with free admission to military personnel with valid identification.
