Lincoln University, PA - Denzell Hosch hit his fifth three-pointer with 2:25 left in the game to bring Fayetteville State within one point (63-62) of Lincoln, Pa. Fouls and three missed field goals would keep the Broncos (4-9 overall, 1-2 CIAA) from defeating the Lions 65-62.

Hosch (Shelby, NC) led the game with 18 points with assistance from Xavier Williams, who scored 11.

The first road conference game for the Broncos did not start as planned. The game was delayed a day due to treacherous driving conditions from the winter snow storm. Also, the game plan didn’t foresee a 15-point deficit (43-28) with 16:06 left in the second half after a 32-26 halftime score.

Fayetteville State went to its bench, which scored 37 of the 62 points, to contest the Lions for a chance to win its second conference game of the season.

Denzel Hosch scored 15 points in the second half to decrease the deficit to three (60-57) with 3:26 left and scored the Broncos final points with 2:25 left.

Lincoln (Pa.) (7-7 overall, 2-2 CIAA) led the entire game and made 10-of-26 three-pointers. Four Lions scored in double figures.

Fayetteville State struggled beyond the arc with 6-of-25.

The Broncos will travel to Richmond, VA in the morning (January 6th) for a delayed 6:00 p.m. matchup against Virginia Union University.
